My 9-year-old boys watch a lot of YouTube. They like to watch people playing video games. The other day, one of my boys asked, "Dad, what is 'two girls one cup?'"

Just tell them it's a video about sharing ice cream, Haha.

Actually, we ban computers and VGs during the school week. TV is next.

I feel pretty great about my daughters hand held screen time (i.e. none unsupervised) I do worry about the TV thing...she watched lots of TV

I played dumb and said I had no idea. Then I changed the subject.

My boys don't have computers or TV in their room. But when my 12-year-old takes the iPhone into his room, it's really no different. So he's only allowed to watch Netflix on it. And he still hasn't learned about private browsing, deleting web history, or deleting texts. And I'm not going to educate him.

Nah, too old. What they find will be new and beyond our comprehension.

Oh no, this is my fear as my kids get older(6 and 2 now) I will be running a bloody tight ship that's for sure but I know it's going to be very difficult to control. Didn't have Internet in my time but discovering dads (extensive) literature collection would be tame by todays standards.

"literature collection" LOL

Now that I think about it, it's the olden day equivalent of discovering his "browser history"! Delete, delete, delete......

I think I would have told them the truth. Cup, fecal mater, mouths.
Some people need psychiatric Help.
Then they can tell THAT to their friends.

Unfortunately, I don't know if anything can be done about it. My girlfriend's nephew is 8 and in 4th grade, and already classmates are telling him about porn sites they've visited and explained in detail the things they've seen. The important thing is to have a good enough relationship with your kids that they would come and tell you about those kind of things so you can talk about it. Luckily, this poor kid does and told his mommy all about it and how disturbing he found it.
